There are a few different sink types, and each sink style is usually better suited to different benchtop types. We’ve broken down the different styles and types below:
Inset/Top Mount Sinks
Ideal for those with laminate or timber benchtops, inset sinks are designed to be inserted into the bench from above, with the 'lip' of the sink resting on the countertop. Please measure your benchtop cut out to ensure that your new sink will fit correctly.

Find the right size
To buy the right sink, you will need to know the following measurements:
Your benchtop's cut out width, height, and depth.
Your new sink's width, height, and depth.
The cut out dimensions refer to the cut size required in your benchtop to fit your sink into your benchtop. It also refers to the space required below to fit the sink in relation to your plumbing.
It’s always advised that a sink is professionally installed to avoid mistakes. If you’re unsure, you will be able to find the specification sheet at the bottom of the product page which can be passed on to your cabinet maker.
Please note: If you’re purchasing a top mount/inset sink, you will have a visible lip, and you’ll need to measure the total width of the sink compared to your benchtop space to ensure that the lip of the sink will comfortably cover the cut out.
Left Hand Vs Right Hand Draining
If you’re looking for a new sink with a drainer, you can opt to have your sink with the drainer on the left or on the right. If you’re unsure what side drainer you’ll need, please note your kitchen’s design and the where you’ll be placing your tap. Knowing this will help you figure out what side drainer you’ll need.
How many bowls do I need?
That’s entirely up to you to decide. There are many style variants between sinks, and we have a very wide range of sinks on offer. If you have the space, a double bowl sink will offer you more cleaning area and convenience. Alternatively, you could opt for a large single bowl sink. Your sink is a practical work station and an aesthetic element in your kitchen. Striking a balance between design, colour, and practicality is the ideal formula for getting the right sink.
